Ingredients
4 cups beaten rice flakes
1 1/2 cups shaved palm sugar, chopped
5 tbsp sugar
1 cup + 2 tbsp water
1 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 cup melted butter
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger powder
10-in square baking tray, lightly greased with butter
Method of preparation Dry-fry rice flakes in a wok over low heat for 3 minutes.
Remove and set aside in a deep mixing bowl.
Boil palm sugar, sugar and water in a saucepan for about 10 minutes
until sugars dissolve.
Strain syrup into mixing bowl with rice flakes.
Add butter, salt, cardamom and ginger, mix well.
Press mixture into greased baking tray and allow to set.
Cut into squares or simply scoop and serve.
